Have you used material from the flax plant in your design work?
Parsons Healthy Materials Lab will host an exhibition on Flax at the Aronson Gallery in Fall 2024 in NY. The Regeneration exhibit will explore the process, lifecycle, and application of natural biogenic materials from the flax plant.
We are looking for student work which uses material from the flax plant, such as linen textiles/fibers, linseed oil, or flax shive/straw. The project should consider the full lifecycle of their design, and incorporate positive health and environmental benefits. Submissions will be accepted from any discipline and interdisciplinary work is encouraged. Submissions will be evaluated on the use of flax as a material, compelling aesthetics, and a demonstration of novel innovation. This call is open to current students at The New School.
