Want to represent Parsons in “America By Design” Season 2?
“America by Design” is a television show about inspiration, disruption, and changing the game through the power of design. Parsons Healthy Materials Lab and Parsons School of Design are academic partners with the producers MWC Productions, a television production company with offices in Australia and New York, for this nationwide broadcast on CBS.
Season 1 of “America by Design” aired this Summer and was a huge success, so now we’ve been invited into season two! Twenty-nine projects from around the country were featured, including one of ours, the PA Hemp Home. Prior to America by Design, over 4 million viewers had watched “California by Design” and “New York by Design” which were big hits! The show airs on TV and each episode is also available to watch for free on YouTube and other streaming services.
As educational partners, Parsons will nominate 3-4 Parsons alumni to audition for a position on the show. As a presenter, you will have the opportunity to star in the show, represent Parsons, and meet with cutting-edge designers from across the country - in front of the camera!
Does your work exemplify healthy material innovation, design activism, or social advocacy through design?
Are you inquisitive and like talking with other designers? Would you like to be on TV? Are you active on social media?
If your answers are YES, please submit your expression of interest, along with images of your work, to audition to become a presenter on “America by Design” by clicking the “Apply Now” button on the top left.
How are participants chosen?
Recent alumni will be chosen whose work exemplifies innovation in sustainability, uses healthy materials or healthy strategies and/or promotes design activism or social advocacy through design. A knowhow of social media and a strong digital presence is a plus!
Submission Requirements:
200-word statement that describes how your creative work meets the above criteria
3-5 page PDF work sample or URL that documents a design project/s that shows your exploration of material health, design activism, or social advocacy in design
max 100 words that describe how you will be a confident and compelling ambassador for Parsons and design on this TV show

Eligibility
Alumni from undergraduate and graduate programs at Parsons School of Design are eligible to enter.
