Advancing Healthy Building Materials in Europe

HML EU gGmbH | Wiesbaden, Germany

Healthy Materials Lab EU (HML EU) gGmbH is a nonprofit, design-led research lab founded in 2024, and is an official Partner of the New European Bauhaus.

As a sister organization of Parsons Healthy Materials Lab in New York City, HML EU leverages its deep material knowledge and research to focus on building solutions which are healthy for people and planet, tailored to the European context.

Both organizations work together to exchange knowledge and support the development of new healthier materials and practices in the two regions.

Transforming Spaces, Reviving Neighborhoods: Non-Toxic, Sustainable Renovations Across Europe

HML EU is embedded in an inspiring consortium of NGOs, academic partners, architects and manufacturers on a mission to transform Europe’s buildings, cities and municipalities with non-toxic, biobased materials and future-fit construction methods.

HML EU is Supported By…

We’re able to carry out our work across Europe thanks to the generous support of forward-thinking organizations that share our commitment to healthier materials and more just design practices.

Their contributions make it possible for us to expand research, share knowledge, and advocate for safer, non-toxic building systems. We truly couldn’t do this without them.
