Healthy Materials Lab Went to Greenbuild

...

Greenbuild is the largest convention and expo dedicated to sustainable building, and this year, Parsons Healthy Materials Lab was there. They shared their passions for affordable healthy building alternatives and socially engaged design with attendees from around the globe via social media coverage and their very own convention floor booth.

The Lab is a partner in the Healthy Affordable Materials Project (HAMP). This unprecedented collaboration between Green Science Policy Institute,Healthy Building Network, Health Product Declaration Collaborative and Parsons Healthy Materials Lab works to produce an environment of transparency within the affordable housing construction industry. From the raw materials to the finished product, the team encourages industry leaders to pay attention to products installed in their projects. We are seeking affordable healthier alternatives.

Members of Parsons Healthy Materials Lab attended Greenbuild to promote the benefits of industry transparency in the push to make our homes safer to occupy. They also provided a compelling argument to those companies already producing landmark healthy materials, to encourage them to rethink their product lines and open them up to affordable housing developers.
