Want to represent Parsons in a new series called “America By Design”?
“America by Design” is a new television show about inspiration, disruption, and changing the game through the power of design. Parsons Healthy Materials Lab has been invited to be an academic partner with the producers MWC Productions, a television production company with offices in Australia and New York, for this nationwide broadcast on CBS.
Over 4 million viewers watched “California by Design” and “New York by Design” which were hugely successful. The new 6-episode series is planned to air in June-July 2021. After the TV airs, each episode will be available to watch for free on YouTube and other streaming services.
As educational partners, Parsons will nominate 3-4 Parsons students to audition for a position on the show. As a student presenter, you will have the opportunity to advocate for design to a national audience.
Does your work exemplify healthy material innovation, design activism, or social advocacy through design?

How are participants chosen?
We will choose students whose work exemplifies innovation in sustainability, uses healthy materials or healthy strategies and/or promotes design activism or social advocacy through design.
Submission Requirements:
200-word statement that describes how your creative work meets the above criteria
3-5 page PDF portfolio that documents a design project/s that shows your exploration of material health, design activism, or social advocacy in design
max 100 words that describe how you will be a confident and compelling ambassador for Parsons and design on this TV show
Eligibility:
Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree-seeking design program at Parsons School of Design are eligible to enter.
